Garry Kasparov vs. Deep Blue Garry Kasparov vs. Deep Blue is based on the famous 1997 chess match between grandmaster Garry Kasparov and the IBM supercomput- er Deep Blue, billed at the time as the ultimate man vs. machine encounter. The music is derived from the moves made in the six games of that match.
Francis Heery is a composer, sound artist and researcher. His sound work focuses on improvisation and impro- vised sound installations in public spaces.
Distant Coherence is a collection of four pieces produced using a combi- nation of processed cello samples and found sounds. The experience of the work is entirely individual based on the current playback position of the tracks combined with the location of the listener at that given time.
