RTÉ Radio 1’s The Book Show invites audiences to join them in recording a special programme for Culture Night. Sinead Gleeson speaks to crime writers Liz Nugent, Arlene Hunt and Declan Hughes about the genre and they read a very special short story written for the night. We also hear from Mike McCormack about his new novel Solar Bones and are treated to a special performance by Crash Ensemble and Adrian Crowley of a short story, The Dead Hotel, set to music and performed live in front of our Culture Night audience.

Adrian Crowley is a singer-songwriter from Galway, he has released six albums, winning the Choice Music Prize Irish Album of the Year for Season of the Sparks (2009) and nominations for Long Distance Swimmer (2007) and I See Tree Birds Flying (2012). In a Rolling Stone interview, Ryan Adams cited Crowley as “the best songwriter that no one's heard of".
