Katie Kim has joined forces with leading new music ensemble Crash Ensemble, building on her collaborative nature this album concentrates on re-interpreting her critically acclaimed third album “SALT” which was nominated for the RTÉ Choice Music Prize in 2017.
This re-interpretation of “SALT” features special arrangements by Dublin born composer Seán Clancy.
Salt Interventions has been performed to sell out audiences including shows at Music Town and Body and Soul Festivals.
Salt Interventions, the album was recorded live at the Grand Social in 2017 and produced by John "Spud" Murphy of Guerrilla Studios (Lankum, Hillary Woods, The Jimmy Cake).
Katie has a long history of collaborations with a selection of Irish and international artists including David Kitt, Milosh, The Waterboys and most recently Radie Peat (Lankum).
Crash Ensemble have worked with Bryce Dessner (The National), Richard Reed Parry (Arcade Fire), Íarla Ó Lionáird (The Gloaming) in the past and recently with Villagers as part of their new album “The Art of Pretending to Swim” just released on Domino Records.
Salt Interventions is Katie Kim and Crash Ensemble’s first collaborative project and release together.
