Australian flautist Lina Andonovska is joining Crash for the next two months for concerts in Dublin, Cork, London and Lithuania. (Our Autumn season as we have now taken to calling it.)
We were going to let you know about all the amazing groups Lina has performed with all over the world and all the glittery awards she has amassed but the list is really really long.
The girl has serious creds.
You can read interesting facts about Lina here. Including her childhood as a Macedonian refugee, how she started playing the flute by acting as a translator for her music teacher mum, what Rolling Stone has to say about her playing and her previous life as a flamenco dancer!
You’ll also find out that Lina has worked with many of our composing friends including Louis Andriessen, David Lang, Michael Gordon and our very own Donnacha Dennehy.
Lina has been a fan of Crash since university, when she saw us play at the Canberra International Chamber Music Festival. She played with us for the first time recently at the Edinburgh Festival for ‘The Last Hotel’ the new opera by Donnacha Dennehy and Enda Walsh.
A fantastically talented player, with a love of new music and up for the craic. It can’t get more Crash that that.
We have a lot lined up for her in the next two months (check out the list below!). Follow Lina on twitter and her blog to find out about her adventures in Crashland.
