For its 20th anniversary in 2017, Crash Ensemble decided to give way to adventure: how might contemporary music fit within the Irish landscape? The group had compiled 20 commissioned pieces from composers in Ireland and elsewhere.
The CrashLands project comprises ten concerts held throughout the Irish countryside with venues including a lighthouse, a holy fountain, a castle courtyard, medieval ruins and a cloister island.
Working together with film director Brendan Canty and audio engineer Bob Jackson, the group managed to create a video series from this unique concert tour. Some of these videos will now be showcased at Music nova.
In addition to these videos, Bio Rex will also host the solo concert of cellist Kate Ellis, the Artistic Director of Crash.
