   Culture Night 2012 at the Civic Theatre offers you an opportunity to
   enjoy a flavour of Crash Ensemble, CoisCéim and Fishamble's work; a
   combination lauded for its "level of diversity and one-off specialness
   that honours the event".*

   About the programme:

   Fishamble: The New Play Company presents an excerpt from The Wheelchair
   on My Face by Sonya Kelly, fresh from its Fringe First Award at
   Edinburgh 2012: ‘I got my first pair of glasses when I was seven. A
   nurse came to the school and tested everyone’s eyes. And so it
   was discovered why I’d thrown bread to the floating crisp packets in
   our local pond and walked into lamp posts and said, ’excuse me’...

   Crash Ensemble will celebrate Philip Glass’s 75^th birthday with a
   performance of 'Music in Similar Motion', specially arranged and
   produced by Kate Ellis and Enda Bates with video by Simon Doyle:
   "The earlier pieces were meditative, steady-state pieces that
   established a mood and stayed there...The real innovation in "Similar
   Motion" is its sense of drama. Philip Glass

   And acclaimed national treasure, CoisCéim, will present a short
   work-in-progress dance performance from Pageant by Muirne Bloomer and
   David Bolger.
