Dēmos - films of separation and togetherness

A suite of interconnected shorts, Dēmos – films of separation and togetherness is the first part of a new collaborative project between choreographer Liz Roche and composer David Coonan, commissioned by Dublin Dance Festival and the Abbey Theatre in association with Crash Ensemble and filmmaker José Miguel Jiménez. Filmed live on the stage of Dublin’s iconic Abbey Theatre, Dēmos brings together musicians and dancers, posing urgent questions of how to feel together in a time when togetherness feels fractured.  The films follow journeys through the cracked spaces these bodies occupy; through liminal spaces between movement and sound, through spaces physical and digital, real and imagined.
