Jonathan Pearson

Jonathan joined Crash in 2014 following positions with the Irish Association of Youth Orchestras and the Cork Orchestral Society, where his responsibilities mainly were in Marketing, PR and concerts management.

Jonathan did a Commerce degree in University College Cork majoring in management and marketing. He was offered a research scholarship within that department on the back of his first class honours degree, but declined it in order to pursue a masters in Music & Technology in the CIT Cork School of Music. His main work was his thesis, an in-depth study of classical music’s relationship with modern technology, electronica, and contemporary culture, entitled “Embracing Technology: Bringing Classical Music to the Mainstream”, where Crash featured heavily. Accompanying this was a twenty-minute composition for piano and electronics. He received a first-class honours grade for the masters.

In March 2015, Jon co-founded and was General Manager of Forte Festival, Cork city's first classical music festival in more than a decade. He is also the manager of This is How we Fly, and works as a freelance project manager on a number of arts events.
