Crash play the world premiere Friendly Piece by composer in residence Andrew Hamilton, which asks the question Can Music Be Kind?

Friendly Piece features Andrew as a performer at the centre of the ensemble, investigating the ambiguous space in which music is performed, hovering between things, evading being pinned down. It explores friendliness and loving kindness giving “a tiny bit of joy or even infuriating you." Everything belongs.

Friendly Piece was commissioned in 2019 and written during Andrew’s time as composer in residence with Crash.
