Glassworks - Philip Glass

Glassworks - Philip Glass

Kilkenny Arts Festival

August 14, 2024

Following Lavinia Meijer’s radical interpretation of Philip Glass’ music for harp, Crash Ensemble continue Kilkenny Arts Festivals’ mini-adventure through the iconic composer’s work with this tantalising concert in the Parade Tower, Kilkenny.

Written in 1981, Glassworks was Glass’ wildly innovative attempt to merge minimalism and pop, creating ‘classical’ pieces with infectious pop hooks. It soon became one of the composer’s most popular works.
