CRASH WORKS 2026-2027
CRASH WORKS is an initiative to support the artistic and professional development of music creators at pivotal stages of their careers - creators who are eager to engage with Crash and the wider world of contemporary classical music. The programme is offered in partnership with New Music Dublin, Crash Ensemble musicians, and our broader team of creative minds.
CRASH WORKS III (2026-2027)
Five music creators, selected through an open call, will undertake a two-year Crash Works Residency in partnership with New Music Dublin Festival. These 5 brilliant creators are:
Niamh Dalton
Sofia Féria
Peter Joyce
Joanna Mattrey
Michael Sullivan
Over the next two years, these creators will take part in our Crash Works development hub, designed to meet the needs of emerging artists in the 21st century. We will fully support their creative process allowing time for thinking, creating, collaborating, investigating and re-defining what it is to be a music creator. The creators will work with our lovely Crash Ensemble musicians and team of skilled, talented people. We will share our knowledge of the sector, encourage play and experimentation and support new ways of creating music.
During their residency the creators will develop at 10-minute piece of work which will be presented at New Music Dublin Festival in 2027. Each creator is individual and so too will be the shape of the work they will create.
We believe in creating music in a different way - embracing new ideas, discovering new sounds, and championing the future of new music.
